Klassik 2.0, founded by violinist Julian Schad, falls into the second category. Since 2024, a new form of music-making has been taking shape in the historic Marstall on Lake Starnberg—one that deliberately navigates the expectations of classical music: accessible, focused, and faithful to tradition—yet offering a fresh perspective on it.

Following the success of the 1st Klassik 2.0 Festival in October 2025, we are pleased to announce the program for our 2. Klassik 2.0 Festival 2026 to introduce Lunchetime and Evening concert am Samstag, 13.6. in the Knights’ Hall at Kempfenhausen Castle, and on Sunday, June 14, with a band, a DJ, and a live broadcast of the German national team’s first World Cup group stage match: Germany vs. Curaçao at the Marstall am See in Berg.
The musician behind it
Julian Schad is a versatile, authentic musician with heart. After graduating with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London, he performed in venues such as the Elbphilharmonie, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall. Influenced by music from an early age, he played the violin, drums, trumpet, and piano—always supported by his close connection to his four siblings. Today, he is a concert violinist, concertmaster, and chamber musician, as well as an initiator of new formats. With “Klassik 2.0 / Club,” he has been bringing classical music to the stage in fresh contexts since 2024.

Lunchtime-Konzert · Rittersaal, Schloss Kempfenhausen
Experience chamber music of the highest caliber in the magnificent Knights’ Hall of Kempfenhausen Castle. Masterpieces by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartoldy, such as “Flügel des Gesanges,” and Bach will be performed by Viviana-Zarah Baudis (piano), Tommy Haas (cello), and Julian Schad (violin).
Last-minute program change—no particular reason. We just thought two cellos are even cooler than one! @tillschuler, principal cellist of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, who performs on the world’s biggest stages, will take the stage with @tommyhaaswastaken for the first half of our lunchtime concert.
From Baroque and Viennese Classical music to Brazilian folk music and tangos—it’s going to be a celebration!

Starting at 5:30 p.m., we’ll open the doors of the Marstall for a relaxed summer evening with DJNas, a great atmosphere, and the perfect way to get in the mood for the German national team’s first group stage match.
Starting at 7:00 PM, we’ll be broadcasting Germany vs. Curaçao live and look forward to experiencing a special soccer evening together with you.

Yes. Visitors under the age of 27 pay a reduced price. In addition, persons accompanying severely disabled persons with a “B” pass are admitted free of charge.
Admission usually begins one hour before the concert starts (e.g., 6:00 p.m. for a concert starting at 7:00 p.m.). This allows plenty of time for the get-together with snacks and drinks, which is an integral part of Klassik 2.0.
Yes, many Klassik 2.0 concerts include an afterparty with a DJ and drinks. This starts right after the concert (e.g., at 10 p.m.) and creates space for conversation and socializing.
Yes, concert halls such as the Marstall in Berg are wheelchair accessible. In addition, persons accompanying people with disabilities benefit from reduced or free admission.

A lunchtime concert takes place at noon. The term “lunch” here does not refer to the food. It is a musical treat before the lunch break, and light snacks and drinks are provided.
